Meet Zainab

Zainab Raza is a prospective law student with a background in Political Science and Public Policy from the University of Toronto. Having grown up in Milton, she’s been deeply involved in the community—volunteering locally and campaigning at every level of government. At 23, she launched a business celebrating her South Asian roots, now recognized worldwide with a thriving online community. Her leadership in student projects and work in the non-profit sector have equipped her to be a strong advocate for Miltonians.

 My Platform

A better Milton: inclusive, sustainable, ready

  • “Better ways to get around, for everyone.”

    • Push for better transit connectivity, especially for youth, seniors, and newcomers.

    • Prioritize safer roads, pedestrian-friendly streets, and bike infrastructure.

    • Ease street parking pressures in residential neighbourhoods.

    • Advocate for long-term transit planning to match Milton’s rapid growth. We need more train trips and express trains during rush hours for Milton GO

  • “Let’s build a town that works for the next generation.”

    • Ensure future development includes mixed-use, walkable neighbourhoods.

    • Resist sprawl; protect agricultural land and integrate climate-smart infrastructure.

    • Encourage community input in planning decisions.

  • “We need spaces for young people to grow, thrive, and lead.”

    • Expand after-school programs, sports, and youth employment opportunities.

    • Reinvest in community centres, parks, and accessible recreation.

    • Advocate for youth advisory committees and mentorship programs.

  • “Opportunities should exist close to home.”

    • Support small businesses and local entrepreneurship.

    • Create youth internships/co-ops with local businesses and government.

    • Attract green and tech-sector investment aligned with town values.

  • “A healthy environment is a community investment.”

    • Strongly push back against the Campbelville Quarry

    • Expand and protect parks, trails, and natural heritage.

    • Champion urban tree-planting, pollinator zones, and anti-littering campaigns.

    • Introduce climate adaptation measures and green building incentives.

  • GRASSROOTS CAMPAIGNS WOULD BE NOTHING WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT! EVERY CONTRIBUTION IS APPRECIATED
